Neck
Hours at a screen or holding a phone puts your head forward of your shoulders. The muscles running up the back of the neck hold it there all day, and they get tender, short, and slow to let go. Sleep position and jaw clenching stack on top of that.
Neck pain usually traces back to a few specific tight spots that send pain somewhere else — into the head, behind an eye, down an arm. Finding those takes assessment. General kneading feels good for an hour and changes nothing.

First visit is the 90 minute session. Li needs time to assess before she can treat. Ninety minutes is what that takes — it is not an upsell, it is the appointment actually working. After the first visit you can book shorter.
See a doctor first if you have numbness or weakness in an arm or hand, or if the pain started with a fall or a collision.

Shoulder
The shoulder is held in place by muscle rather than bone, so it absorbs whatever your day asks of it. A bag on one side, sleeping on one side, overhead work, or a desk setup that pulls one arm forward will all show up here first.
If it is one shoulder and it has been months, that is a pattern, and patterns need assessment before treatment. If both shoulders are just tight from training or lifting, deep tissue is the faster, cheaper answer — say so when you book and Li will move you.

Upper back
The muscles between your shoulder blades spend the whole day resisting a rounded-forward posture. They rarely tear or strain. They fatigue. That is why the ache is dull and constant instead of sharp, and why it is back a day after a light massage.
This responds well to sustained pressure and time, which is what deep tissue is. If it has been there for six months or more, book neuromuscular instead — at that point it is usually being held by something further down.

Low back
Low back pain often is not coming from the low back. Sitting shortens the hip flexors and quiets the glutes, the pelvis tips forward, and the low back muscles work overtime to keep you upright. They are the ones that hurt, but they are not the ones causing it.
Treating only where it hurts is the reason it keeps returning. This one needs the hips and glutes worked as well as the lumbar area, and that does not fit in fifty minutes.

See a doctor first if you have pain, numbness, or tingling running down a leg, weakness in a foot, or any change in bladder or bowel control.

Hip and glute
Sitting all day shortens the front of the hip and switches the glutes off. Running and cycling do the opposite — a lot of repeated load through a small range. Either route ends in the same place: an ache on the outside of the hip or deep in the glute.
The glutes are deep and layered, and the spot that hurts is frequently not the spot that needs work. Assessment first, then treatment, then a couple of things to do at home.

Legs
Calves, hamstrings, quads, and the outside of the thigh, from running, cycling, a standing shift, or simply living on these hills. Load without enough recovery between it.
There is a lot of surface area down here. Fifty minutes covers one problem well. Ninety covers both legs properly and leaves room for the hips, which is usually where the leg tightness is actually coming from.

No one spot — general tension
Nothing you can put a finger on. Just a body that has been carrying stress for a while and has not put it down.
This is the one thing a relaxation massage is genuinely good at, and there is no reason to sell you a clinical session you do not need. Start here. If something specific surfaces on the table, Li will tell you and you can book the right session next time.
